Kimmo Pohjonen is the master of accordion and certainly one of the most original artists in Finland. Those familiar with Finnish rock circles may remember him from Ismo Alanko's band Säätiö, but besides playing with other artists, Pohjonen has always worked on his own solo projects as well. He has impressed audiences worldwide with his frantically primitive performances. Both his albums, solo debut Kielo (1999) and Kluster (2002, with percussionist Samuli Kosminen), gained numerous enthusiastic reviews from all parts of the world.
It is not easy to describe Kimmo Pohjonen's music; let's just say that it won't leave you untouched. His performances and recordings are always a dazzling mixture of virtuosity and lunacy.
