Last year's Ilosaarirock's Sunday opened with a not-so-usual occasion: there was a football game, one of the teams consisting of musicians, the other of sportspeople. (And guess who won?) One of the brightest stars on the field was Mariska straight from team FC Ilosaarirock.
But this lady does not score only on the football field. She is equally adept with rhymes. Her second album Memento Mori (2004) is a very convincing example of how words for Mariska are just putty in her hands, and she can mould them into whatever she wants in order to get her message across. Mariska is certainly one of the most vigorous and charismatic woman artists in this country.
