Hip hop is right now so extremely popular in Finland that it would be a miracle if no one in Joensuu would like to try their hands in it. But MC Pöly will not take the stage in Ilosaarirock just because she's local. Although she is only sixteen, she is easily one of the brightest stars on Finnish hip hop sky this year. Her strong texts are an appeal to think how much wrong there is in the world – take, for instance, her single Viaton which is a powerful comment against child labour and child soldiers. These strong texts make most other hip hop lyrics seem naïve and boring.
Onstage, MC Pöly is accompanied by a frantic background band who can go easily from angry alternative rock at one moment to dance beat at the other.
