Such a peculiar name for a band ("Dr. Orff and Mr. Dalcroze"), and what on earth do they sing about? Bouncy castles, evil vacuum cleaners, sandboxes! Sounds rather, um, infantile, and that's exactly what it is. Tohtori Orff & Herra Dalcroze is a band with a mission — to bring better children's music for both those young at body and those young at heart. The trio was formed in 1996 and has, in addition to playing numerous gigs all over the country, also popped into the recording studio every now and then. Last time that happened was in 2003 and resulted to the band's fourth album, Umpikuja 5. Although the Orffs play the majority of their gigs in nursery schools, they are already regular visitors in Ilosaarirock. If the grass happens to start growing through the concrete at Laulurinne this year too, you know who to blame.
