  RYTMIHÄIRIÖ

Rytmihäiriö is one of the oldest punk bands in Finland: originally formed in 1988, they released their first album in 1991, but only a year after that decided to call it quits. Seven years later they agreed for reunion, and on this year's Valentine's Day finally released their second album Saatana on herra.

Rytmihäiriö's cup of tea — or should we say poison — is their self-fabricated genre surmacore ('killcore' or 'slaycore'). The essence of surmacore lies in the lyrics which deal with the darker realities of everyday life, very often describing alcohol-induced acts of violence committed by the lesser fortunate in life. The new album shows that Rytmihäiriö has clearly moved on over the years: their sound is now more suitable for the 21st century, and there are metal influences added.
