Soul Captain Band released their first album in 2001. The debut Jokaiselle tulta had rather a political message, but the next album Tanssijan valinta (2004) was a step to a lighter, more danceable mood. The band has also worked as a stepping stone for at least two other recording artists, Jukka Poika and Paarma. Soul Captain Band's music and lyrics are irresistibly catchy, so watch out, or you may find the strange lyrics "vauvantekohomma / se on simppeli" ringing in your head for the next three weeks after the festival is over!
