This band plays fragile music in the best tradition of sensitive indie pop. Ultramariini started their recording career with the album Juuri ja juuri olemassa (2003) which became an overnight success, catching attention from both rock magazines and music lovers. This year saw the release of Ultramariini's second album Kevään ja kesän tähtikuvioita. The self-evident front man of the band is the vocalist Matti Johannes Koivu who's got a singing voice like chilly, clear Finnish summer nights.
