Is Seinäjoki, a small town in Western part of the country, the Seattle of Finland? At least the place's got an amazing quality of producing masses of perplexingly energetic bands. Look at Virkavalta, for instance, and you need no further proof. This band's shows are so frantic that they verge on the chaotic. Virkavalta started in 1997 as a pure punk band, but in their present shape they prefer to ice their alternative punk cake with a rich layer of metal, hardcore and cacophonic guitars.
Virkavalta went to a recording studio earlier this year and finished their first album Riekaleet. The nine tracks open up a strange world which is even more frightening live. Don't hesitate, come and join in the crowd!
