CMX

CMX

The first thing a long-term fan associates with CMX is versatility. They have come a long way from their HC punk roots to pop/rock hit songs that are widely played in the radio.

Nevertheless, the basic element is still there — lead singer A.W. Yrjänä's (also one of the most popular of today's Finnish poets) beautiful, shamanistic, mythic lyrics, and the need for the band to always change musically.

After all these years (22, in fact) and relatively wide success, CMX is still somehow in the margin. It's hard to explain why. Possibly because Yrjänä is a true humanist and therefore always slightly difficult to understand. Despite that, it is perfectly possible to simply enjoy the way he uses the Finnish tongue as his instrument without delving any deeper in meanings.

On January 2 2007 CMX buried themselves in studio and started recording their 14th album. This time they will subject their audience to a record that includes no more, no less than one song. This experience is due in the autumn of 2007.

Check them out in the Sulo club in Ilosaarirock! They are one of a kind. And they rock.
