It was precisely ten years ago when the Third Stage in Ilosaarirock was conquered by five Helsinki-based young men. The singer of the band was rumoured both to have a fantastic voice and, what was even more thrilling, to be incredibly good-looking. Even if the band had by that day only released one EP, the vicinity of the Third Stage was filled to capacity with people who were curious to see them and hear what kind of music was that Love Metal that the band declared to play.

Ten years later, the Helsinki-based band with an odd name is still led by that same charismatic singer, Ville Valo. They have released five impeccable albums that have sold more than four million copies worldwide. These days, the band is famous everywhere, but their attitude towards making music is just as intensive and uncompromising as it was on the day when they began. Ilosaarirock is absolutely bursting with pride to present... HIM!
