STONEGARD (NOR)

Psst! Want something to impress your friends with? Then let us inform you that this Norwegian squad is still relatively little known even among the circles of heavy users of heavy metal. It is a pity for sure, but the chances are that this band will soon turn the tables and become one of the most talked-about acts in the genre. During their six-year career, Stonegard has not wasted time hiding in their rehearsal room: they have already released two full-length albums and played a number of gigs all over Europe, also in Finland.

Stonegard melts together several different genres of heavy and not-so-heavy music, cooking up a formula that is simultaneously strapping and agile. They do not shy away from extremities or even black metal influences, but do not want to avoid openly catchy and dynamic rock'n'roll influences either. The band, thanks particularly to their charismatic vocalist Torgrim Torve, has been compared repeatedly with such names as Danzig and Tool.

In 2005, Stonegard recorded their first album Arrows with Daniel Bergstrand (of In Flames fame), then proceeded almost instantly into the follower From Dusk Till Doom. In spite of two praised albums and many great gigs under their belts, this band has unfortunately remained a well-kept secret so far. Rest assured that this does not need to be. Difficult to pass, so easy to fall in love with: this is the official forecast for Stonegard's performance. RØCK!
