Us3 is practically an alias for the London-based producer Geoff Wilkinson. The original idea behind Us3, formed already in the early Nineties, was to combine rap and jazz and thus give young people a chance to experience jazz in a way it had never been heard before. Wilkinson took samples from the classic recordings of the legendary label Blue Note and then combined them with beats and raps of his own. This formula met with such wild success among the audiences that Us3's debut album Hand on the Torch (1993) sold platinum in the USA.

Ever since that day, Wilkinson has been on that same inventive journey into the depths of sound, delving deeper into such treasuries as Latin American and Indian music cultures. During the summer 2007, Us3 will tour Europe with their fifth album Schizophonic, released last year, and a live band, so be prepared for a night of liaisons dangereuses between hip hop, jazz, bossa nova, soul jazz, wild grooves and great beats.
