Ilosaarirock Festival Line-up and Schedule Finalised

Joensuu, Finland — Ilosaarirock Festival has announced its schedule and the full list of artists. The last confirmed bands include both Finnish power metal in the form of Sonata Arctica and Los Angeles-based metalcore manifesting itself in Terror. The Finnish public has taken a huge interest in this year's programme and the tickets are selling extremely fast. The festival has been sold out in advance for the past decade.

In 2007, Ilosaarirock keeps exploring new and different genres of music. This year’s headliners include HIM (FIN) Calexico (USA), The Cinematic Orchestra (UK), Porcupine Tree (UK) and Opeth (SWE). As for the Finnish bands who are fast becoming internationally successful we offer you Disco Ensemble, Husky Rescue and Hidria Spacefolk.

One of the specialities of Ilosaarirock is the Relax State or 'the Beach', which is a Festival within the festival. 'The Beach' hosts a whole range of artists playing hip hop, reggae, funk and much more. It is the place where you can get a glimpse of Finland's, perhaps surprisingly, vivid reggae and dance scene. Plus, we offer international acts rarely seen at these latitudes, such as Anthony B (JAM) and The Slackers (US). Then again, at the heavier end of the spectrum, Ilosaarirock is proud to present bands such as immensely popular Amorphis, Finntroll and Insomnium.

Started in 1971, Ilosaarirock is one of the biggest rock festivals in Finland. Among the music enthusiasts it has established a unique reputation for combining a relaxed ambience, musical determination and professional dedication. Each year, some 100 bands play at the Festival's five stages & interesting clubs. This year the festival is held 13.-15.7. Ilosaarirock is a member of YOUROPE — the European Festival Association.

TICKETS

Tickets for Ilosaarirock 2007 are available at www.tiketti.fi. The two-day ticket costs 60 €. The festival has been sold out in advance for several years, so act quickly to avoid disappointment.
