Kylmä Sota
When Brezhnev (drums), Thatcher (bass), JFK (guitar) and Reagan (vocals) bang their heads together, the outcome is something to be excited about. The band got started when Reagan and Brezhnev were drinking at the latter's and came up with an idea of a band that would have absolutely nothing to do with modern times. So welcome back the balance of terror, welcome Kylmä Sota! (And, as you might have guessed from the context, the name means 'Cold War' in English.)
Digging their influences from the golden era of the early 80s, this Turku-based group shamelessly goes for the steaming roots of d-beat, adding also a share of Finnish hardcore classics to their racket. So far, the band has mostly worked in the studio, recording demos and seven-inches. Steer clear, audiophiles and stone-faces. Kylmä Sota's allure is all in their devil-may-care clamour and their hilariously disrespectful attitude towards the traditions.
