Maj Karma

A lot has happened since Maj Karman Kauniit Kuvat was established in Harjavalta, Finland in 1992. Since those days the band's name has shortened and their popularity soared, but the bittersweet harshness of their sound hasn't lost its aggressiveness. Perseveringly, they have proceeded towards the essence of their being while gathering melodies and muscle around their bones. On that journey, they have also sired a number of modern classics of Finnish rock music.

Maj Karma's eighth full-length album came out in March, which was also when the audience had the pleasure of welcoming Maj Karma back on stage after a long tour break. By July they have already toured for four months, the new material will have been honed to perfection, and the audience will also have found their own favourites from the new record and vehement singing along during the most popular songs is to be expected.

The bastard child of the rude guitar riffs of Häiriö Piirinen and the murky tales of the singer Mr. Ylppö, Maj Karma is a musical assault that makes you hungry for one more blow. Freezing cold and burning flames in the middle of a summery festival day, that's what Maj Karma's offering at the Ilosaarirock Festival.
