Regina
Regina's sound is fresh and the band is unique, in more than one respect. They have toured throughout Europe, released three fantastic albums and been praised by critics and the buying public alike. This kind of curriculum vitae would do credit to any well-established, time-honoured band, but is downright astonishing for a combo that's only been playing together since 2004. So many things they have already done and accomplished, so many great adventures are still waiting for them.
This year's album Puutarhatrilogia took the trio's tunes into a bit more organic direction without giving up all the electronic elements that are so inherent in Regina's music. Regina does not hide the fact that they are sometimes borrowing from their British Nineties idols, but oh how Finnish they can make the end result feel like.
