The Capital Beat
Sixteen feet are tapping on stage, and God knows how many more are stomping in the audience. That's just about how it looks and sounds like at The Capital Beat's gigs, when this eight-strong ska-pop orchestra comes and blows the audience’s mind with its Jamaican-influenced rhythm extravaganza. Hard to believe that they only get two candles on their birthday cake this summer, but they do, even if some of the band members have already played together a bit longer in bands like Evilsons.
The past spring has seen The Capital Beat dance the Germans off their feet and gain airplay as far as Asia, Australia and the US. Yet another hallmark of quality is that the really big names of today's ska, such as Reel Big Fish and last year's Ilosaarirock Festival guest Mad Caddies, have welcomed The Capital Beat as their support act. And why feel ashamed even in company more experienced than yourself, if you have such irresistible but, at the same time, uncompromisingly stylish rhythms as The Capital Beat has. Feeling the reggae and doing the ska as only people from the icy North can, The Capital Beat!
