Tohtori Orff & Herra Dalcroze
In 1994, Kimmo, Matti and Hannu realised that there is not enough palatable children's music around, and decided to put together a band to set the matter right. Ever since those days, a multitude of breath-taking stories have been told with the help of mandolins and drum sets made of cardboard boxes. The kids who saw Tohtori Orff & Herra Dalcroze in the band's early years are already on the verge of adulthood, but even now, fifteen years later, the band shows no signs of fatigue in entertaining their young and not-so-young audiences. And why not, since the band has never forgotten the most important factor of all good children's music: it has to sound good also in the ears of the kids' parents as well, particularly because in many families the children's favourites are repeated much more often than anything in the parents' record collection. If we forget the clear articulation and the fact that the audience's eyes are slightly lower than usual, essentially nothing in Tohtori Orff & Herra Dalcroze's act reveals that this band is not the next Dream Pop wonder straight from the top of the indie charts. Or is it?
