A gig at the Rekka Stage has been the first milestone on the road to success for many beginning bands from Joensuu, and this may very well be case with Ablazer as well.
They’ve been called a rising star in the Finnish metal scene, and it does sound that their particular brand of death/black metal has enough original ideas to rise above the sea of mediocrity. They still have some rough edges left, but that’s not entirely a bad thing, because there’s a point when endless polishing takes away the flavour as well as the roughness.
The show itself seemed to kick off a bit slowly, but after some minor technical difficulties were taken care of, the band seemed to really get into the zone. There were relatively few people at the gig, but at least they were having fun.
Not bad guys.
