The structures of the Sue Stage tent were hot iron red when Omnium Gatherum let out their melodic death metal. This wasn’t their first visit to Joensuu, we have had the privilege to witness their performances before.
The audience was treated to a show of perfect enthusiasm and skill. Singer Jukka Peltonen took a close contact to the spectators; that kind of close feeling you just can’t fake. Even if their music is rather dark the feel of the gig was the complete opposite and smiles were spread across a huge number of faces all through the performance. The tight guitar lead combined with sharp drum patterns got the air guitarists and drummers of the audience moving.
It is unnecessary to ask if the gig was good. It was god damn amazing.
Omnium Gatherum definitely was a performer fit for this Sunday.
