Even if Black Audio hails from Southern Finland, the band's history is closely connected to Joensuu. They played their first ever gig at the semi-legendary, now sadly deceased, Kerubi rock club in 1999. Since then, they have spread the gospel and played dozens of gigs all over the country and even toured in India.
It is not easy to categorise Black Audio. The band mixes up genres and styles with such a feverish excitement that any broad-minded person finds the resulting music very hard to resist. Black Audio's vocalist Ville Pirinen is, by his own description, a free-lancer universal genius, who also draws comics and has designed numerous album covers for various Finnish bands.
Right now, Black Audio is particularly hot for their newly-released second album Iron Rhino.
