KARA

Kara was formerly called Ankara, but earlier this year, due to juridical reasons, they had to adopt a somewhat shortened version of their name. As Ankara, they had released a handful of singles and one album (Terapiaa, 2004) and had a minor radio hit with the single Järkäle.

Kara sings its metal-inclined, nuanced, melody-friendly songs in Finnish. The band's latest release is the album Pahat kielet(2006), produced by Janne Halmkrona (which those familiar with Finnish rock'n'roll giants may recognise as the guitarist from CMX) and best described as a series of tender moments juxtaposed between lunatic tantrums.
