Nicole from Western Finland is a great example of what the modern Finnish metal is at its best. A telling example of their resolute attitude is that so far the band has not wanted to resort to anything so common as a record company in releasing their records. And they've got a reason to believe in themselves as well: in the heavy metal magazine Inferno their second album Suljetut ajatukset (2004) was chosen as the album of the month. The songs are impressive mixtures of hard, excavating rhythms and melodic, ethereal choruses, and the cherry on the top is the charismatic vocalist/guitarist Ilkka Laitala.
