PAPRIKA KORPS (POL)

By their own definition, Paprika Korps is a heavy reggae band from Poland. But "heavy reggae" here does not, luckily, mean a bastard child with one half from UB40 and the other from Metallica, but rather The Clash -style white man's punk reggae with fierce dedication to the subject. Heavy reggae is just as catchy as your regular reggae, but here you can forget all images of sleepy rastafaris lying around in a lazy summer day.

These vegetable lovers — they have also dubbed their own label Karrot Kommando — have toured Europe far and wide during their 10-year career. This is not their first time in Finland, either, as their 2005 live album was recorded in Tampere. So by now, Paprika Korps know already that when the beat is right, even shy Finns can crowd the dance floor faster than you can say Jah!
