SAMAE KOSKINEN JA HÄNEN TAIKABÄNDINSÄ

Sister Flo was one of the most important Finnish indie bands over the last few years, and therefore it was rather a surprise to all when earlier this year the band's vocalist Samae Koskinen debuted as a solo artist. His first solo single landed immediately on playlists and made Koskinen a lot of new friends, and a full-length album (Vol. 1) soon followed.

Samae Koskinen sings in Finnish while Sister Flo's lyrics were in English. As a matter of fact, Koskinen's method for getting the lyrics for his solo album was rather peculiar: he sent the first versions of his songs to five top-notch Finnish lyricists and poets, and got finished lyrics in return.

The alliance between poetry and rock is not the only seventies thing in Samae Koskinen's music. Live, he is backed by his very own Taikabändi ('Magic Band'), so get ready for a charming encounter with one of the most original Finnish artists today.
