Trentemøller

Having Trentemøller at Ilosaarirock follows a long-standing pattern of getting some of the biggest names in the electronic music scene. There’s always something for those hungering for some sweet electronic tunes. This year that something is Trentemøller. Of course there’s Studio Killers, Portishead, OJJ and others as well, but let’s focus on Trentemøller now, shall we?

Anders Trentemøller with his titular group have released three full-length albums to date, the latest being ”Lost” which came out in September 2013. Lately they’ve been touring around Europe, and when the dates matched, Ilosaarirock was more than happy to snatch up the Danish super-producer and multi-instrumentalist for the Saturday programme.

Trentemøller fired off the show with a bit more pop-sounding material, but after a while introduced more edgier stuff as well. The material switched back and forth from straight up electro buzz to catchy pop tunes with ethereal female vocals. The audience loved it either way. If they ever decide to return to Ilosaari again, I think Trentemøller will be heartily welcomed back.
