Raappana brought out the sunlight
There were two reasons to smile about in early evening at Rentolava-stage. First the Finnish reggae scene’s top name Raappana through a great gig with the Sound Explosion band and second the festival audience saw the first sunshine of the day. The Valkyrians and Momo Cat had warmed up the people around Rentolava and when Raappana took the stage one could feel the energy vibe spreading.
Raappana has been a familiar face in Ilosaarirock during the previous years. This was to be noticed as the audience gave the artist a warm welcome back. Hundreds of hands up in the air and people jumping in the beach shore showed that Raappana was a wanted act. Raappana’s lyrics handels everyday life with a mix of humor and seriousness. Everybody seemed to know the songs by heart as Rentolava was packed to its full capacity. The audience loved Raappana’s act and by the looks of it the feeling was mutual.
