Not so HC weather for Happoradio

01happoradio_mp_23.jpgDamn you, Happoradio. I have checked the weather forecasts with care and am therefore
equipped with rain coat, rain trousers, rubber boots and woolly socks. And what happens? You play radio hits and the sun is shining happily as ever. Not fair.

It is always tough for the first act on any festival. The audience is still arriving
to the festival area, the proper atmosphere is yet to develop and everything
in general seems to function in slow motion. A generally approved way to
properly kick off is to open with a band whose snappy mood comes across and affects the festival
audience directly. With a kind of home ground benefit backing them up, Happoradio trusted
largely in the power of up tempo tunes, for example Tanssi heard early on in
the set. Hitaasti, already beautiful on record, was performed as a piano-leading number, which
brought Aki Tykki’s vocals forward effectively. Although all of Happoradio’s songs either sounded like radio
hits or really were them, the audience - still in the middle of switching into festival gear - got visibly
most excited by Tavikset.
But you won’t fool me, Happoradio! You may perform energetic upbeat
music, but sooner or later it will really be HC weather. And when that
happens, I will be prepared.
