Growling for the initiated

Sunnuntaina 15. heinäkuuta 2007

American metal combo Terror made clear which way the wind blows straight from the start. I was reminded of high school basement bands: tough banging, relentless growling, no unnecessary nuances or quiet spots…Lue koko artikkeli »

Maria Gasolina fought the rain and won

Sunnuntaina 15. heinäkuuta 2007

18mariagasolina_mh01.jpgMaria Gasolina plays mainly Brazilian music. If one were to draw conclusions from their gig, Brazilian is a synonym for feeling good, danceable rhythms, and charming percussions. The set included songs as Deliverance and Blackwater Park, combining extremely heavy material to softer sensitivity.Lue koko artikkeli »

There is no need for words when the hands do the talking

Sunnuntaina 15. heinäkuuta 2007

The super producer and multi-instrumentalist RJD2 arrived to Joensuu with his four-piece band and got on the stage accompanied by a huge storm of applause. RJD2 is probably one of the most eminent hip-hop producers, and therefore it was interesting to find out how the maestro would pull through the exchange of turntables to microphone and guitar, not to mention bass or keyboards.Lue koko artikkeli »
