Towards the rain with Disco Ensemble
What do the festival goers do when the sky opens with a pouring rain while Disco Ensemble is playing? If they’re well prepared, they take out their umbrellas. The less well prepared seek for cover at the nearest stage. And if they’re extremely badly prepared, they kick off their sandals and boogie away in the puddle. The singer Miikka Koivisto heartily praised the atmosphere at Laulurinne and in return ensured that the heavy rain wouldn’t affect the festival mood of the audience. The internationally acknowledged emo-influenced group functions in two modes: fast and even faster. The set played on the main stage covered songs from both Viper Ethics and First Aid Kit, and gave no member of the audience a chance to idle about. And although the last song was called We Might Fall Apart, with Disco Ensemble’s live energy this is hardly a topical issue.
