Reggae folk songs from Suhinators

14suhinators_em05.jpgSuhinators, one of the most distinguished representatives of the peculiar subgenre that is Finnish reggae, performed on a gentle Saturday everning at Rentolava. Multiculturalism, tolerance and spirituality are their keywords.

The gig pulled in interest people to half fill the beach, and even though the band doesn’t have any real hits, the shared language of the body kept the audience excited. As is usually the case at Rentolava, physics took over from the mind and the beach was swinging to a fat reggae beat.

14suhinators_em03.jpgPuppa J, who is one of the leading men of Suhinators, had earlier had to cancel his own band’s performance because of childbirth. The personnel changes notwithstanding, the band created a fusion of French, English, and Finnish lyrics. In addition to regular, ideological Finnish reggae, the band played traditional Finnish tunes dressed up in a reggae rhythm.

To wrap things up, Suhinators used electronic beats to work the audience up to the point of a rhythm extacy.
