Veila is a Joensuu-based band, and the world's first collaborative kantele ensemble, creating their own arrangements of the hottest pop hits with their beautifully traditional instrument. Their goal is to rejuvenate the image traditionally associated with the national instrument by offering contemporary music experiences that combine polyphonic vocal harmonies, creative band instrumentations, and the enchanting sound of the kantele. Veila's performance captures intense moments and delicate presence around a shared instrument, like a communal campfire.
