Pop phenomenon Ava Max and enigmatic British collective Sleep Token to Ilosaarirock!

Albanian-American pop sensation Ava Max (US) and genre non-conforming, mysterious British group Sleep Token (UK) will perform at Ilosaarirock in July! Following the line-up announcement, Ilosaarirock’s daily programme is now out and all festival ticket types are available for purchase.

Ava Max made her commercial breakthrough back in 2018 with her comically and cosmically huge international hit single Sweet but Psycho, which shot straight to the top of the charts in more than 20 countries. The gifted singer makes music, where dance-ready melodies go hand in hand with soul crushing lyricism about life, love and what it means to be a woman in the 21st century. The vibe is pure euphoric dance pop, with songs dressed in rich neon colors and dipped in sugar, spice and everything nice.

Nowadays, Ava Max is one of the most listened to artists in the world. Drawing musical and visual comparisons to the likes of Lady Gaga, Bebe Rexha and Dua Lipa, Ava Max is the perfect, multicolored pop diva, whose dance anthems you won’t wanna miss at Ilosaarirock.

British collective Sleep Token is a true riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma. Sonically, the group is a beautiful mixture of rock, metal, and pop, all bound together by an almost ritualistic feel and ambience that is characteristic of Sleep Token’s recordings and especially their live shows. The group’s dream-like lyrics, inspired by age-old myths from all around the world, transport you to a time and place where Sleep Token feel weirdly and deeply familiar, despite their enigmatic anonymity.

Though the anonymity adds a whole new dimension to the experience of listening to their music, it is clear from how Sleep Token play that it is, in fact, all about the music – and only the music. In their own words, the group doesn’t place any value on who they are, but instead on what they make.

– This line-up announcement sort of perfectly sums up what Ilosaarirock is all about. On one hand, we’ve got your global chart-topping pop diva, and on the other, an enigmatic, genre-bending collective, all ready to put on a great show for all festival goers. We’ve got something for everyone, grins our promoter Panu.

Following today’s line-up announcement, Ilosaarirock’s daily programme is now out and all festival ticket types from three-day tickets to two-day and one-day tickets are now available for purchase. Snag yours here or straight via our official ticketing partners Tiketti and Lippu.fi.

Along with Ava Max and Sleep Token, the 2023 edition of Ilosaarirock will see performances by The Prodigy (UK), Years & Years (UK), Benson Boone (US), Carpenter Brut (FR), Dylan (UK), Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes (UK), Jacob Banks (UK), JVG, Stam1na, Vesala, VV and dozens of others!
