Ethereal guitar pop at Rekkalava

The Saturday afternoon saw the Seinäjoki-based rock-pop band Streak and the Raven taking the stage at Rekkalava stage. The band delivered some ethereal and dramatic guitar flowing to the public interested in Finnish indie rock styled music. The band describes its style as horror western music, which takes the listeners to barren dreamy landscapes of films that have never been filmed.

Streak and the Raven performed in Ilosaarirock as part of the band exchange program between Ilosaarirock, Provinssirock and Qstock festivals. Despite its local origin, one must say that the band’s film noir alike sound and English lyrics make it universal by character.

Although the festival audience often seeks the gigs of the famous bands, it’s worthwhile to remember than the prominent new bands shouldn’t been forgotten either. The gig played by the Osthrobothians wasn’t any worse than those of their more famous colleagues. After all, the audience found its way to the stage to enjoy the new acquaintance and the encore was heard even at Laulurinne.
