Don Johnson Big Band warmed the audience

16_djbb_ak_32Don Johnson Big Band is known for their ability to take and hold their audience until the last notes die away and today’s performance surely proves that. The band, headed by Tommy Lindgren, left no one cold, even though the chill of the wind took some of the day’s warmth with it. The whole field full of crowd in front of the Main stage swayed in unison and the atmosphere compensated for the slightly cooler weather.

Even though DJBB has had a tight schedule this summer, exhaustion or fatigue were nowhere to be seen on the stage. The set included surprisingly many new songs from Records Are Forever album, and even though Lindgren claimed that the radio stations didn’t want to play their new single, Check The Record, the audience seemed to love it. DJBB also played some old reliables, not forgetting the massive radio hit One MC, One Delay. Between the songs Felix Zenger entertained the crowd with his very own beatbox show.

DJBB has played in Ilosaarirock numerous times, and Lindgren seems to remember every time. He applauded and thanked the crowd for their enthusiasm and praised the festival atmosphere between songs, and also commended the hardcore Children of Bodom fans in the front rows who had come early to get the best spots for following COB gig.
