It’s a fact that quality heavy metal and the YleX- stage is a match made in heaven. DevilDriver made no exception to this. The crowd was already warmed up and ready for some head banging as DevilDriver took the stage. There were no signs of jetlag and the group kept the tempo high through out the show.
Ilosaarirock seemed to be good place for the DevilDriver. The crowd was with them from the first minute on and the feeling was mutual. Even one of the security guards couldn’t resist to take part into some head banging. The band’s exitement was visible and reminded of a child meeting Santa Claus. The strong emotions led to strong words: “Thanks for fucking having us here. It’s fucking beautiful out here!”. Most likely most of the crowd lost their DevilDriver virginity here in Ilosaarirock but that didn’t stop them shouting and sweating like pigs. The answer was clear when the band asked: “Wanna hear one more, motherfuckers?”.
So thank you fucking much DevilDriver and please come again. With a show like that you always have place in Ilosaarirock.
