Puppa J taitaa työnsä. Letkeät reggaerytmit saivat tänä vuonna folk-henkisen lisän haitarista, ja visuaalista voimaa esitykseen tuo aiemmin päivällä myös Asan kanssa esiintynyt Panda. Puppa J & Punky Reggae Bandin reggae on nopeatempoista ja hyväntuulista, mutta myös hitaammat kappaleet toimivat: niissä on sanomaa. Whenever Ilosaarirock has guests from beyond the eastern border, they always carry a surprising element in their music. Whether it’s about the unique rhythms of Tequilajazzz, the laid-back latin grooves of Markschneider Kunst or the Karelian ethnic rock of Santtu Karhu, the performances of Russian artists have always had their unique flair which has separated them from the masses. Unlike their countrymen, Everything is Made in China, who hail from Moscow, had decided to challenge the friends of indie music with their own weapons. Instead of slavic echoes or twisted grooves, the group offered a package paying respect to North American alternative groups, where large soundscapes hold a greater degree of importance than the geographic origin of the music. Lauantai-iltana päälavan takainen VIP-alue kuohuu väkeä. Kutsuvieraat patsastelevat viilenevässä illassa, artistit taputtelevat toisiaan tai toipuvat lasittunein katsein työtehtävästään. Karsinan perimmäisessä nurkassa istuvat Rubikin vokalisti Artturi Taira ja basisti Jussi Hietala. Esityksen nostattama hiki on kuivunut ja illan ohjelma odottaa yhä jäsentymistään. The last performer of the Saturday night at Rentolava stage was the Jamaican dancehall artist Beenie Man. In their sailor-like costume Beenie Man and his band offered an entertaining and colourful show. Energetic show included, for example tribute to the recently died pop legend Michael Jackson. The crowd got a glimpse of a good Caribbean festival mood.

ISIS was one of the most anticipated artists this year in Ilosaarirock, and so the YleX tent was packed with people waiting to see this rare occurrance, some of them perhaps not knowing exactly what to expect. Forces of darkness took over the main stage as the dusk began to settle. The most eager fans of Bodom had populated the front of the main stage from the moment the gates of the festival area were opened.
