Roihuvuori born and raised Ege Zulu combines afrobeat and rap in a way that feels like a booster shot to the otherwise somber-prone Finnish rap scene. Ege Zulu’s influences lie in France’s Marseilles and Kongo, which you can hear in the airy flow of his music.
Ege Zulu released his debut album Swengari last year. He shot to nationwide fame through a collab with Finnish rapper Gettomasa on their smash hit Valmiina futaa. YleX, the national radio channel of the Finnish Broadcasting Company named Zulu their breakthrough artist of the year. It’s absolutely something we can all agree on!
