Tehosekoitin is one of the most legendary Finnish bands of the late 1990s and early 2000s, and were a regular feature at Ilosaarirock in their heyday. A mixture of glam rock, go-go funk and sweet pop from the 70s, Tehosekoitin was never one to fit the mould. Some underground connoisseurs might also remember Tehosekoitin from the period they recorded music in English and went on a European tour with the stage name Screamin' Stukas.
Following a decade-long hiatus, the band announced that they will return to stage in 2021, much to the excitement of their loyal fans. Many believe that Tehosekoitin is the number one festival band in this country – and as the chorus of Valonkantajat fills the air while the warm evening sun paints everything orange, you will know exactly what they are talking about. Tehosekoitin’s hits are filled with adolescent bravado, a sense of adventure and a total lack of inhibition, making them perfect for singing in unison. Kaikki nuoret tyypit, Asfaltti polttaa and Maailma on sun are all tunes that perfectly sum up what it’s like being young and carefree: Life is here and now, and all we want to do is have a good time.
