Finnish punk rock band Huora hit the nail on the head with their very first album, Hukutaan paskaan. The debut release introduced a well-rounded group that was armed with taut riffs, badass songs and the punk scene’s most luminous vocalist Anni Lötjönen, who has swiftly turned into the voice of her generation.
Huora has managed to garner not only the attention of punk and metal fans around the country, but those who don’t normally go for the genre as well. The crossover popularity is testament to the positive atmosphere that the band manages to create during their live shows. Though most of Huora’s songs are about the darker corners of life, Lötjönen & co. manage to puff hope into their listeners. And damn if it isn’t just what we needed!
